Clients wishing to rehabilitate horses in training can get enormous benefit
from Santa Escolástica's Aquaciser (underwater treadmill).

José De Camargo uses the veterinary services of Woodford Veterinary
Clinic.
Dr. Alan Dorton, DVM, visits the farm regularly.

Under the general management of Fabian Echenagucia , all horses boarded at
Santa Escolastica are fed McCauley's Brothers feed, which is "dedicated to
excellence in equine nutrition" and has been established locally in Versailles
since 1938. All foals and yearlings are weighted mountly and compared in a
McCauley's Brother's computered development curve.

If you require further information about the McCauley's Feeding program
please contact Jose De Camargo at jose@santaescolastica.com

__________THE AQUACISER_______________
The Aquaciser is an underwater treadmill that can
either rehabilitatehorses or help to initially get a
horse into shape. There are several personnel
at Santa Escolastica that have experience with the
operation of the Aquaciser. As such, this machine
can be used for specific and individual training needs
of Santa Escolástica's clients' horses.

By using such a swimming device, the primary goal is to relieve stress on the skeleton. As The
Horse
magazine stated, "In an underwater treadmill, the buoyancy of the water 'reduces' the horse's
body weight so there is less strain on supporting structures of the legs - bones, joints, tendons, and
ligaments."

"Many people incorporate the underwater treadmill into a rehabilitation program for an injured horse.
It will provide conditioning of the cardiovascular and muscular systems while unloading the limbs."
The magazine also adds: "Evidence indicates that horses which would be unable to exercise are
able to work in an underwater treadmill without deterioration of the primary problem; this will
allow for a faster return to full fitness once normal conditioning is resumed."

The Aquaciser is set up in a well ventilated barn. Its floor is a cushioned surface ideal for training.
The water is kept at a consistent warm temperature to allow for twelve month use. Horses accept
working on a treadmill easily and usually become proficient and relaxed in just a
few training sessions.
